Background: Transurethral resection of bladder tumour (TURBT) is a standard urological procedure used in the management of bladder tumours. However, the quality of TURBT surgical videos on YouTube is generally low, and higher educational-quality videos with detailed explanations of the procedure are needed. We present an educational video describing bipolar TURBT.

Methods: The steps involved in TURBT include preoperative evaluation, anaesthesia, positioning, examination under anaesthesia (EUA), cystoscopy, resection, and postoperative care. A video presentation with a voice explanation could show the steps involved in TURBT and provide a visual aid for trainees to follow. This would also help ensure that the technique is standardized and that trainees perform the procedure correctly.

Results: The video developed demonstrated the proper technique for each step, including using a resectoscope to remove the bladder tumour. It also provided tips and tricks to minimize complications.

Conclusions: A video presentation on a standard step-by-step safe technique for TURBT is an effective way to train urology trainees. The procedure can be divided into several critical steps, and a video presentation with a voice explanation can help trainees learn the proper technique. This can help ensure that the technique is standardized and that trainees perform the procedure correctly, leading to better patient outcomes.
