Background: Whilst the technique of hand-sewn ileocolic anastomosis is widely practised, videos demonstrating this technique clearly are not readily available. The aim of this video was to capture and clearly demonstrate a technique of hand-sewn ileocolic anastomosis.

Methods: An intra-operative video was obtained of a hand-sewn anastomosis. Two points of view were captured. Editing was conducted in Final Cut Pro in which both perspectives were presented.

Results: The video clearly demonstrates the individual technical steps involved in hand-sewn ileocolic anastomosis. Given that two perspectives are presented, the key technical aspects of the anastomosis are captured.

Conclusions: The video demonstration illustrates a technique for handsewn ileocolic anastomosis.
