AB074. SOH26AB_0400. Quality and safety in Ireland’s first robotic-assisted gastrectomy program
Abstract
Although the incidence of gastric cancer in Ireland is decreasing, the absolute number of patients diagnosed is slowly increasing due to demographic factors. There are approximately 570 new diagnoses annually. Total or sub-total gastrectomy, usually with perioperative chemotherapy, remains the mainstay of treatment. Beaumont Hospital instigated Ireland’s first robotic-assisted gastrectomy (RAG) service in 2020. This study aims to compare early outcomes with a similar cohort undergoing laparoscopy-assisted gastrectomy (LAG).
