Mr Chand is currently a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and Senior Lecturer at University College London. He is also Director of the MS in Advanced Minimally-Invasive Surgery at UCL. He is the Undergraduate Lead for GI Surgery for the MBBS programme.
After completing a 1st Class BSc degree in Neurosciences, Mr Chand graduated from Royal Free Hospital London before completing his Basic Surgical Training through Kings College Hospital London. He has completed higher surgical training through the Wessex training scheme having worked at the prestigious Basingstoke Hospital. He has a PhD from Imperial College working with the MERCURY Study Group under the supervision of Professor Gina Brown.
Mr Chand has presented several lectures across the globe, has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He is also a Key Opinion Leader in laparoscopic colorectal surgery working closely with several industry leaders including the AIS Channel.
Mr Chand also holds an MBA and a keen interest in the management of complex institutions.
